Hey - I’m Mel!

If you are chatting to us via Insta then, most likely, it’s gonna be me . I’m the techy one maintaining our systems, so if you have a website complaint you can send it my way.

I am a busy mama to 3 babes under 7 and began the Blanc journey with my mum (Lea) whilst on mat leave with baby number 3.

I have always loved throwing big “at-home” events and it became even more unhinged when I had kids. I have a background in events and digital media so this is really the best mix of my passions.

Handy Grandy built our first backdrop for babe number 2’s Baptism and we knew we were on to something. Fast forward a couple of years and we are now building some of the most incredible backdrops round town.

You will catch me on emails from time to time, at your set-ups or in the warehouse performing quality control.

I am a creative brain and have always been immersed in décor and interior design, so the shift to events was a natural fit.

I am a Nana to 7 and am always the one hosting family gatherings and the occasional wine and cheese on a Tuesday (Mumm only ;))

More often than not I will be 1/2 of the delivery team and I love seeing your event come together. My brain is always going with new ideas and researching the latest trends in event décor so I’m the perfect person to brainstorm with.

I’m the guy behind the scenes bringing to life our designs.

I think I’m most known for my Insta handle @handy.grandy_perth building some pretty epic bars and backdrops for some cool Perth creatives.

I am Grandy to 4 little ones (hence the name).

My happy place is in the workshop getting creative - I still pinch myself that this gets to be my job!
